New Crime Bill

The Conservative government has passed Bill-C10. Bill-C10 makes several amendments to the criminal code. These amendments enacts minimum sentences and doubles the duration of maximum sentences. For example, for growing marijuana a person can now be incarcerated for up to 14 years instead of the old maximum of 7 years. 1. This bill was pushed through on a false fear of crime. All across the world violence and crime are declining. here is an article supporting this claim that we are safer now than we have been for the last 40 years. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/03/07/f-vp-stewart-crime.html
